manager of your current property. Terminate the lease. Find out
about schools near your new home.

Register your children with their new school.
Arrange for your bank to transfer your accounts to a new branch.
Inform utilities companies and official agencies of your change of address or terminate your contracts (electricity, water, national insurance, benefits office, post office, tax office).
Phone your telecom company and either terminate your contract or arrange for it to be transferred, effective as of the day after your departure from your previous address. Send a registered letter to your insurance company (house, life and car insurance etc.). If you are living in rental accommodation, contact the owner and arrange for an inspection of the property.
Make a list of the documents and items that you will be keeping with you on removal day.
Plan the position of your furniture in your new home.
Check that you have completed the declaration of value and returned it to the removal firm. Check that you have given the firm your new address and details of access including any difficulties, and have told the firm which floor your apartment is on.
Empty your refrigerator and defrost it. Put together all documents, items, keys, jewellery, money, precious metals and valuable items that you are keeping with you.
If you are going to require medication during the removal period, remember to gather up your various pharmaceuticals and keep them separate from items for removal by the removal firm.
